Trump says Iran’s handling of ships in Strait of Hormuz is ‘not the agreement we have’

US President Trump

US President Donald Trump is accusing Iran of doing a “very poor job” of handling oil through the Strait of Hormuz and is saying it was “not the agreement we have”. He also says Iran “better not be” charging ships to pass through the key waterway.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed his cabinet to begin direct negotiations with Lebanon, as Iran says Israeli attacks “blatantly violate” the ceasefire.

But Netanyahu said “there is no ceasefire” in Lebanon, and they will “continue to strike Hezbollah with force” – earlier the Israeli military issued evacuation orders for parts of Beirut.

It comes as Lebanon’s health ministry says 303 people were killed and more than 1,000 wounded in Israeli strikes on the country yesterday.

The US and Iran announced a ceasefire late on Tuesday – but there have been conflicting reports about what was agreed.—BBC
