The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated that it will soon make public its position on the proposed amendments to the 1992 Constitution.
In a statement on Friday, August 28, the party disclosed that its Constitutional and Legal Affairs Policy Committee has finished reviewing the Constitution Review Committee (CRC) report and the government’s Position Paper.
The NPP noted it took part in the review exercise and submitted its inputs to the CRC before its recommendations were presented.
After the government released its Position Paper on July 30, 2026, the party said its committee further examined both documents and drafted an NPP position paper.
The draft will now be presented to flag-bearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and the National Executive Committee (NEC) for approval.
Once adopted, the party will officially communicate its stance to Ghanaians.
The NPP said its position will be guided by its commitment to a transparent and inclusive process to strengthen Ghana’s democracy and national development.
