The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has told the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, Zakaria Abdulai, to step down from the Juaben Constituency chairmanship contest or face disqualification.
The instruction was revealed by the party’s Deputy National Communications Director, Julius Kwame Anthony.
Mr Abdulai, widely known as Paapaa, is currently under investigation over alleged sexual misconduct involving a female student.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted him until investigations are concluded.
Police say a 20-year-old Form Two student of the school, together with her father, filed a complaint at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Obuasi on August 4, 2026.
The directive from the party comes as Mr Abdulai is seeking to contest the chairmanship slot in the NDC’s internal polls in the Juaben constituency.
The case against him is still being probed and no findings have been made yet.
