The National Democratic Congress (NDC) could lose 29 parliamentary seats in the 2028 general elections, according to a new projection by Global InfoAnalytics.
Using its Multilevel Regression and Poststratification (MRP) model, the research firm projects the NDC to win 154 seats, down from the 185 it secured in 2024.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is projected to rise to 100 seats, up from 88 in 2024 — a gain of 12 seats.
Despite the drop, the NDC would still hold a majority in the 276-member Parliament.
The model leaves 22 constituencies undecided – 20 undisclosed and 2 toss-ups.
Eastern Region has the highest number of undisclosed seats with 5, followed by Ashanti with 4, and Western with 3. Upper East has 2, while Central, Greater Accra, Oti, Upper West, Western North and Bono have 1 each.
The two toss-up seats are in Ashanti and Bono. In percentage terms, the NDC is projected at 55.8%, NPP at 36.2%, undisclosed at 7.2% and toss-ups at 0.7%. The figures point to a slimmer NDC majority in 2028 – but it remains a projection, not a final result.
