Fire officers have subdued a blaze that swept through a scrap storage facility at Circle Railway in Accra.
Crews drawn from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) headquarters and the Makola station rushed to the scene and managed to stop the flames from engulfing nearby structures.
The inferno consumed sections of the ground floor of a two-storey structure that had been converted into an improvised depot for discarded metal and other salvaged items.
According to the Fire Service, its teams acted swiftly to bring the situation under control and prevent further destruction.
No one was injured in the incident. Officials say investigations are still underway to determine what sparked the fire and to assess the full scale of the destruction.
