Thomas Partey has been named the Men’s Footballer of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards for the third time in his career. The Arsenal midfielder was recognized for his outstanding performances, including scoring four goals and adding three assists in 52 games for the Gunners, who reached the UEFA Champions League semifinal stage and finished second in the EPL.
Partey beat out stiff competition from teammate Antoine Semenyo, who had a record-breaking season with AFC Bournemouth, scoring 13 goals and adding seven assists in 42 games. Ghana Sports Minister Kofi Adams presented the award to Partey.
Notably, Partey’s contract with Arsenal is expiring this month, and his camp is currently negotiating a new deal. Other big winners at the awards included Doris Boaduwaa as Female Player of the Year, Razak Simpson as Home-Based Player of the Year, and Achraf Hakimi as Best African Footballer of the Year.
