The Ghana Highway Authority, on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, has announced a temporary traffic management plan to support construction works on the Accra–Tema Motorway and its extensions.
The arrangement will allow engineers to carry out T-beam launching works for the expansion of the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange bridge, a project aimed at reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.
Under the temporary plan, lanes on the N4 northbound carriageway from Accra to Madina will be closed to allow construction work to continue.
Meanwhile, the southbound carriageway from Madina to Accra, which currently has four lanes, will be reconfigured into two lanes in each direction to allow traffic to move both ways.
The new traffic arrangement will take effect on Monday, March 9, 2026, and is expected to last for about four months.
According to the authority, the lane reduction is necessary to ensure the safety of construction workers and motorists.
The Ghana Highway Authority has urged drivers to exercise caution, obey traffic signs and cooperate with traffic management officials during the construction period.
