The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has cut its Monetary Policy Rate by 150 basis points to 14%, marking a continued shift towards easing monetary policy as the country’s macroeconomic landscape improves.
The Governor, Dr. Johnson Asiama, attributed the decision to improved domestic economic conditions and high real interest rates at the 129th MPC press briefing.
Despite this move, the central bank remains vigilant about external risks, particularly escalating tensions in the Middle East, which could impact the country’s outlook. The BoG has signalled its readiness to adjust policy if global conditions worsen reuters.com
