The government has taken a major step to resolve public transport woes, with the arrival of 100 new 29-seater buses, according to the Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, April 5, 2026, he indicated that the vehicles were part of a total of 300 acquired by the government to enhance transport services and lessen strain on travelers.
“In the mean time, 100 29-seater buses have arrived in the country to ease recent road transport challenges. They form part of 300 procured for the purpose. Another batch of 100 will arrive in August with the last batch of 100 arriving in November,” he stated.
This move follows recent shortages of vehicles across parts of the nation, which left passengers stuck at bus stations and stops. The government has previously stated that it is taking action to resolve the issue, with the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, noting that measures are underway to fix the disruptions affecting daily travelers.

The newly arrived buses are expected to deliver quick relief, while the subsequent batches scheduled for August and November aim to further boost public transport capacity nationwide.
