The Ministry of Finance Ghana and the Bank of Ghana (BoG) have dismissed circulating claims that Databank has been reaffirmed or endorsed as a Bond Market Specialist (BMS) for the Government of Ghana, describing the reports as false and misleading.
In a joint clarification, the two institutions said the response was necessary following the widespread circulation of unverified information, which they warned could mislead investors and disrupt confidence in the financial market.
They stressed that the public should rely only on official communications when seeking information about financial market operators. The Bank of Ghana, in collaboration with the Finance Ministry, had earlier issued an official notice on February 10, 2026 (NOTICE NO. BOG/FMD/2026/08), which provides the updated and authoritative list of Primary Dealers (PDs) and Bond Market Specialists.
Authorities urged investors, financial institutions, and the general public to exercise caution and verify all claims through credible and official sources before making investment decisions.
They further warned that the spread of misinformation could undermine trust and stability in Ghana’s bond market.
The Ministry and the central bank reaffirmed their commitment to transparency and the dissemination of accurate information to safeguard the integrity of the country’s capital markets.
