The Judicial Secretary, Musah Ahmed, is appealing to the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) to call off its planned indefinite strike slated for Monday, November 2, 2026.
This follows JUSAG’s declaration of an indefinite strike over government’s failure to approve the proposed review of salaries and related allowances for Judicial Service staff.
In a directive issued on Friday, October 30, JUSAG General Secretary, Abdulai Yakubu, ordered all Judicial Service staff to stay away from work from Monday until their demands are met, citing government’s failure to meet the deadline set for approval of the revised conditions of service.
But in a circular dated Saturday, October 31, Mr Ahmed said management was engaged in high-level, good-faith negotiations with relevant government stakeholders to resolve the matter.
He reaffirmed management’s commitment to securing a fair and sustainable outcome that recognises the contributions of JUSAG members.
“In view of the ongoing efforts management is making, we humbly appeal to the leadership of JUSAG and all members of staff to consider the larger national interest.
We respectfully implore you to return to your posts while these discussions continue,” he stated.
The appeal comes as efforts continue to resolve the impasse over the salary and allowance review ahead of the planned industrial action.
