Desmond Offei will take charge of the Ghana national football team for Saturday’s international friendly against Mexico national football team in Puebla following the absence of head coach Carlos Queiroz due to personal reasons.
Assistant coach Roger De Sa will also miss the encounter, leaving Offei to oversee the team for the high-profile friendly.
Offei will be supported by goalkeepers’ trainer Daniel Gaspar and set-piece coach and video analyst Gregory De Grauwe.
Twenty-two players are currently in camp as Ghana continues preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following the Mexico fixture, the Black Stars are expected to play additional friendly matches against Wales national football team on June 2 and Jamaica national football team on June 10.
Coach Queiroz has maintained that only “deserving players” will secure places in the final squad and is expected to submit his official list for the tournament by June 1.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L of the expanded 48-team tournament alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team.
Ghana will be seeking its first qualification to the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup since the 2010 tournament hosted in South Africa.
