The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 47-year-old woman in connection with the killing of two relatives at NTHC Estate, Sakumono, in the Greater Accra Region, while declaring the principal suspect wanted.
The arrested woman, identified as Beatrice Mumuni, is alleged to have led the principal suspect, Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, to the residence of the victims before the killings.
The victims, identified as 57-year-old George Atuguba and his 47-year-old niece, Irene Atuguba, were shot dead on Friday, October 30, 2026.
In a statement, the police announced a GH¢100,000 reward for credible information leading to the arrest of Osei Anto, who is wanted to assist with ongoing investigations.
The police have urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the service through its emergency numbers, 191 or 18555.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that the killings may have stemmed from a financial dispute involving George Atuguba, who allegedly owed GH¢500,000.
According to earlier police accounts, Osei Anto reportedly visited the victims’ residence with Mumuni to demand repayment of the alleged debt. A misunderstanding is said to have ensued, during which the two victims were shot.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation as the police intensify efforts to locate the principal suspect, establish his involvement and determine the full circumstances leading to the killings.
