Court activities across in the country have been brought to a halt following the start of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) strike.
Premises of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Accra Circuit Court and several District Courts have been shut, with security officers denying entry and keeping the gates locked.
Visit by the Ghanaian Radar to the Supreme Court and other courts in Accra this morning revealed that security personnel have been ordered not to open the premises.
In some locations, red cloth has been tied at court entrances to highlight the association’s grievances. The industrial action is to press for the payment of outstanding revised salary arrears from January 2026.
In response, the Judicial Secretary, Musah Ahmed, has called on the Association to end the strike, stating that management has held high-level, good-faith engagements with relevant government stakeholders to address the matter.
