The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cancelled the two-day mid-term break scheduled for November 5 and 6, 2026, for basic schools across the country to recover instructional time lost during the recent industrial action.

In a public notice, the GES Management directed all basic schools to remain open and continue normal academic activities on both days.

The decision means pupils and teachers will be required to report to school as usual on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, instead of observing the previously scheduled break.

The Service has urged teachers, pupils, parents and guardians to take note of the revised arrangement and act accordingly.

The notice was signed by Daniel Fenyi on behalf of the Ghana Education Service.
