Charles Bissue, former Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee against Illegal Mining (IMCIM), has thrown his support behind Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Bissue described Agyapong as a transformational leader with the empathy and results-driven approach Ghana needs.
In an interview on Citi Eyewitness News, Mr. Bissue highlighted Ken Agyapong’s business background and connection with ordinary Ghanaians as key assets in tackling the country’s economic challenges. He believes Agyapong’s entrepreneurial experience would enable him to drive value addition and industrialization, reducing Ghana’s reliance on external institutions like the IMF and World Bank.
Mr. Bissue expressed frustration over Ghana’s dependence on imports despite its rich natural resources, emphasizing the need for a shift towards exporting finished goods. He sees Agyapong’s leadership as a potential game-changer, resonating with the public’s desire for change. “Bring Kennedy, we’ll vote for him,” Mr. Bissue noted, reflecting the sentiment of many Ghanaians.
