Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has released a new six-track EP, SUN SHERIF, following the success of his sophomore album, Iron Boy.
Released through RBA/Empire, the project sees the 24-year-old artist explore love, vulnerability, self-discovery and personal growth while maintaining the storytelling and melodic style that have defined his career.
The EP is led by “Love Again,” featuring Trinidadian artiste Full Blown. The song introduces a softer side of Black Sherif as he reflects on his relationship with intimacy and affection.
Explaining the inspiration behind the project, Black Sherif said his experiences with receiving love have shaped how he approaches intimacy in adulthood.
SUN SHERIF represents a shift from the themes of resilience, survival and the pressures of fame explored on Iron Boy. Tracks such as “Run Around” and “Jolie” delve into romance and devotion, while “Forever,” featuring AraTheJay, explores faith and solitude.
Other songs, including “Expresso” and “Frontline,” retain the intensity associated with his earlier work, addressing themes such as loneliness, betrayal, money, pride and the pressures that come with success.
Beyond music, Black Sherif has continued to expand his influence in fashion and global popular culture. He has appeared at London and Paris Fashion Weeks and has worked with international brands including Labrum London, Off-White, Christian Louboutin and PUMA.
He most recently featured on “Find A Way,” part of PUMA’s campaign celebrating Ghana’s participation in the FIFA World Cup.
With SUN SHERIF, Black Sherif offers a more intimate look at his personal world while continuing to establish himself as one of Ghana’s most distinctive global voices.
