An Accra High Court has issued a 10-day interim injunction barring former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, from carrying out funeral and burial plans for the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, legal counsel for the Kristo Asafo Mission, said the order was granted after the Mission filed an application concerning the late industrialist’s estate.
He noted that the injunction stops Adwoa Safo, for now, from going ahead with the funeral until the court reviews the case again. The dispute stems from disagreements within the Safo family over who has the rightful authority to manage the funeral arrangements and ensure Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s last wishes are carried out.
The burial events, earlier fixed for July 30 and 31, 2026, have now been suspended because of the court’s directive.Speaking on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, Adwoa Safo maintained that the funeral would still go on as scheduled and called on her brother, Kwadwo Safo Akofena, not to interfere with the arrangements.
