NPP communications director hopeful Dennis Miracles Aboagye says former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would be difficult to defeat in the 2028 presidential election if voters base their choices on the issues affecting their lives.
Speaking on Starr FM, Mr Aboagye said the election would be shaped by the ability of presidential candidates to present credible solutions to the country’s challenges rather than by party colours.
He argued that voters were becoming more focused on practical concerns such as roads, schools, jobs and working conditions.
“When people are going to vote, they vote for the roads they don’t have. They vote for the schools they don’t have,” he said.
According to him, professionals and workers would similarly assess candidates based on policies that could improve their livelihoods.
Mr Aboagye said the key question in 2028 would be which candidate could offer workable solutions to the challenges confronting Ghanaians at the time.
He therefore urged voters to look beyond political rhetoric and compare the policies and proposals of the various presidential contenders.
He maintained that if voters focused on the issues rather than political distractions, Dr Bawumia would win the election.
“I can tell you, if the Ghanaian voter should focus on the issues and pay attention, no politician can beat Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2028 elections,” he said.
