Parliament has summoned the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, Jean Mensa, to appear before the House next week to address the unresolved Ablekuma North parliamentary election results. Despite repeated calls from stakeholders, the EC has yet to complete the collation of results from the 2024 elections in the constituency.
The Minority Caucus had petitioned the Ghana Police Service to provide security for the EC to finalize the process. According to Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, “The Electoral Commission will be asked two questions, so the EC Chair will appear before the committee of the whole to answer two questions.”
Additionally, Parliament will receive briefings from the Ministers for the Interior and Works, Housing, and Water Resources on June 18 regarding recent flooding incidents across the country and measures being taken to address them.
