The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has given an indication of key priorities expected in the 2027 Budget, centred on prudent spending, manageable debt levels and a resilient financial system.
Representing the Minister, Louis Kwame Amo, Director of the Financial Sector Division at the Finance Ministry, said government will additionally prioritise stable prices, stronger foreign reserves and a more vibrant capital market.
He explained that the initiatives aim to lock in the progress made under stabilisation and foster conditions favourable for sustained investment.
He noted that the state’s responsibility is to shape a climate where lenders feel confident to extend credit, firms can scale up and investors take a long-range interest in Ghana.
“Our job is to create an environment in which banks can lend, businesses can invest and capital can take a long-term view of Ghana,” he stated during the inauguration of Absa Bank Ghana’s new headquarters on Friday, September 25.
He urged the business community to take advantage of the improved outlook to expand operations, attract funding and generate employment, adding that stability must lead to tangible economic activity.
“Your job is to help turn the stability into enterprise, investment and jobs,” he added.
