The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has released appointment letters to the first batch of successful applicants for its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise, marking a key step in efforts to strengthen its personnel base.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 18, the military announced that 2,000 applicants have been selected after completing a rigorous, multi-stage recruitment process that began on November 6, 2025.
The selected candidates are expected to report to their designated training centres on Friday, March 27, 2026, to begin the next phase of their military training.
The recruitment process involved a series of assessments aimed at ensuring only qualified individuals are enlisted. Applicants underwent documentation screening, body selection, aptitude testing, medical examinations, and security vetting.
According to the Armed Forces, the exercise reflects its continued commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism, discipline, and operational readiness.
In a departure from previous exercises, the military adopted a decentralised system for the distribution of appointment letters, allowing successful applicants to receive their letters in all 16 regional capitals instead of travelling to a central location.
The new approach is expected to reduce congestion, cut travel costs, and ease administrative challenges for recruits.
Authorities have directed all selected candidates to report promptly to their assigned centres, stressing that failure to comply with the stated timelines and instructions could lead to disqualification.
The upcoming training phase will focus on building foundational military discipline, physical fitness, and essential skills, as part of broader efforts to enhance the operational capacity and readiness of the Armed Forces.
