The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has announced that government has settled $29.5 million owed to contractors working on the Suame Interchange Project, reaffirming its commitment to completing ongoing road infrastructure across the country.
Speaking during an inspection tour on April 28, the Minister disclosed that an additional GH₵3 billion has been approved to expedite construction and enhance the quality of work on the project.
He emphasized that the new funding represents an increase in investment rather than a reallocation of existing project resources, underscoring government’s intention to strengthen delivery capacity.
Mr. Agbodza expressed confidence that the project remains on track, noting that while full completion is targeted for the end of 2028, key sections of the interchange are expected to be delivered earlier.
He indicated that the portion currently under construction is scheduled for completion by the end of this year, marking a significant milestone in the broader project timeline.
