Ibrahim Mahama’s Engineers & Planners has committed a remarkable $5 million as the headline sponsor for the country’s fundraising campaign ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The significant investment is expected to provide crucial support to the Black Stars as they prepare to compete at the world’s most prestigious football tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana’s national football team has already been placed in Group L of the 2026 World Cup, where they will face some of the toughest teams in the world: England, Croatia, and Panama. With the tournament just around the corner, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is racing against time to ensure the team is fully prepared to compete at the highest level.
The $5 million funding will be allocated toward key aspects of the Black Stars’ preparations, including logistics, training camps, equipment, and other essential needs. It is expected to relieve some of the financial pressures faced by the GFA, allowing the team to focus on building a competitive squad that can take on the world’s best.
The sponsorship comes as part of an expansive fundraising campaign initiated by the GFA, designed to secure the necessary resources for a strong showing at the 2026 World Cup.
“We are proud to support our Black Stars as they embark on this exciting journey to the 2026 World Cup,” said Ibrahim Mahama, founder of Engineers & Planners. “We believe in the potential of our team, and this contribution is just one of the ways we can help ensure they have everything they need to compete at the highest level.”
