Iran slams US ‘armed piracy’ after ship seizure in Hormuz, vows response

Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has delivered his first speech after being appointed

Iran has condemned the US seizure of an Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz as an act of “armed piracy” and vows to retaliate.

The attack comes hours after US President Donald Trump announced that he is sending his team to Islamabad for possible talks with Iran.

But an Iranian source says Tehran will not show up for negotiations unless the US lifts its blockade.
