The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Seth Serwonu Banini, has donated relief items to victims of the recent flooding in the Joemens Kpomotey Electoral Area.
The donation, made in response to last Sunday’s devastating floods, aimed at providing immediate support to affected families.
The heavy downpour left many residents homeless, destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis, and disrupted the livelihoods of several households. Some victims lost personal belongings, while others continue to struggle to recover from the impact of the disaster.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Banini expressed his sympathy to the affected families and assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting them through this difficult period. He also appealed to residents living in flood-prone areas to observe safety precautions, especially during the rainy season.
The gesture is expected to ease the burden on the victims as they await further assistance from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
