Doctors at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have suspended services, pointing to worries about patient safety and professional standards. In a statement released by the Korle Bu Doctors Association (KODA), the group confirmed the strike began on 2 May.
The association said the choice was not made easily, but had become essential given the situation.
“KODA does not take this step lightly. It is taken in the interest of patient safety, professional integrity, and the long-term effectiveness of this institution,” the statement said. The doctors are urging Korle Bu Teaching Hospital management to move quickly to resolve their issues. “We trust that Management will act with the urgency that these matters demand,” the association stated.
