President John Dramani Mahama has received an honorary degree from Yonsei University in South Korea in recognition of his leadership and commitment to democratic governance.
The ceremony took place on Friday, March 13, 2026, at about 1:00 a.m. Ghana time, according to a statement shared by the Jubilee House.
The honour acknowledges President Mahama’s contributions to public service and his efforts to strengthen international cooperation and diplomacy.

It also highlights the growing relationship between Ghana and South Korea, particularly in areas such as education, innovation and global partnerships.
President Mahama is currently on a five-day working visit to South Korea aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for trade, investment and technological collaboration.

During the visit, he also commissioned a modern Liquefied Petroleum Gas vessel on March 12, a move expected to deepen cooperation between the two countries in energy and industrial development.
