President John Dramani Mahama has called for an end to the Middle East conflicts.
Speaking at Eid-ul-Fitr prayers on Friday, March 20, he urged global leaders to prioritise dialogue and protect innocent lives.
“Our thoughts are with those impacted by the conflict. Innocent lives, including women and children, are being lost,” he said.
President Dramani Mahama prayed for leaders like President Trump, Netanyahu, and Mojtaba Khamenei to work towards peace.
He also emphasised the need to combat extremism, saying insecurity in one region can have global consequences.
The National Chief Imam’s spokesperson, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, separately urged the government to tackle galamsey and drug abuse, saying they’re destroying young lives. “The Holy Qu’ran calls on us to abandon destruction and corruption,” he said, offering to partner with the government to address these issues
