Former Black Queens head coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo believes Milot Pokuaa has the quality and resilience to earn a return to the national team.
The Hasaacas Ladies forward has been absent from the Black Queens since 2021 after suffering a serious knee injury that sidelined her for several years.
Speaking in an interview with SuperSport, Tagoe-Quarcoo expressed confidence in the player’s ability to bounce back, noting her natural talent and determination despite the setbacks.
She explained that Milot’s progress through Ghana’s youth ranks—from the U-17 to U-20 teams—had been promising before the injury disrupted her development. However, she believes the forward now has another opportunity to revive her career.
Milot has recently shown strong form for Hasaacas Ladies, delivering standout performances across competitions. She scored twice to help her side reach the final of the Women’s FA Cup and also netted a crucial winner against Army Ladies in the league, lifting her team to the top of the table.
Tagoe-Quarcoo said a national team recall would serve as a significant morale boost, allowing the player to demonstrate her abilities once again on the international stage.
She added that with continued support and determination, Milot could overcome the challenges posed by her injury and re-establish herself as a key figure in Ghanaian women’s football.
