The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Seth Sabah Banini, has called on residents of Kasoa to remain united and work together to accelerate the development of the municipality.
Speaking at the 2026 National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held in Kasoa under the theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” Hon. Sabah Banini said although Kasoa is known for many positive developments, misunderstandings and negative perceptions often overshadow the municipality’s achievements.
He noted that the recent rumours that drew many residents to the station ultimately resulted in a positive outcome, emphasizing that all efforts by the Municipal Assembly are aimed at promoting peace, unity, and the development of Kasoa.
The MCE therefore appealed to residents to set aside their differences, embrace unity, and support initiatives that will drive the municipality’s growth. He also expressed appreciation to the religious leaders, traditional authorities, security agencies, and all stakeholders who participated in the thanksgiving service.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Awutu Senya East Local Council of Churches (ASEC), Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Ackom, told Samuel Nyamekye Jnr after the programme that the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving was primarily organised to seek God’s guidance in resetting the nation’s values.
According to him, the gathering brought together the Municipal Assembly, pastors, and other stakeholders to pray for unity, peace, and divine direction for national development. He expressed optimism that through prayer and renewed commitment, Ghanaians would work together to achieve lasting progress for the country.
Also speaking to the media after the programme, Prophet Darko thanked God for the successful observance of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.
He said such programmes provide an opportunity for individuals to reflect on their attitudes, lifestyles, and relationship with God, adding that positive transformation in these areas would contribute significantly to both personal and national development.
Commenting on the recent floods that affected parts of Kasoa and surrounding communities, resulting in the loss of lives and the destruction of property, Prophet Darko urged residents to be safety-conscious, uphold good environmental sanitation practices, and remain prayerful to help prevent similar disasters in the future.
