The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened a three-day window for people seeking national executive roles to hand in their nomination forms.
The filing period runs from Saturday, November 7 to Monday, November 9. It is part of preparations for the party’s national executive elections, which will take place on December 19, 2026.
The party’s Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, told Channel One News that anyone who misses the deadline will be out of the race.
Aspirants must appear in person between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm each day to submit their documents. They are to bring Forms A, B and C, completed in three copies, along with their photographs and CVs, to the election committees.
Mr Gibril stressed that the cut-off time will not be extended. Filing closes at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 9.
“If you are not able to file before 5:00 pm on the 9th of November, it means that you are out of the contest,” he warned. He also made it clear that filling forms online alone is not enough.
Aspirants must still present the completed and endorsed papers in person for the filing to count.
Those who successfully file will go through vetting on November 11 and 12.
Meanwhile, the party is also preparing for its regional executive elections on November 14. Mr Gibril said the Electoral Commission is handling the printing of ballot papers, and about 80 per cent of the work was done at the time he spoke.
On security, he said the Ghana Police Service will be in charge of keeping order. Personal security details for ministers and MPs will not be allowed within the voting area, and party security will also not be allowed.
He said the party expects the police to use the same security plan that was used for the constituency elections.
