The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffuor Awuah, has announced that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will seek judicial intervention over the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to conduct a fresh parliamentary election in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North constituency.
“We are heading to court. I’ve been informed that legal action is imminent, although the specifics are yet to be disclosed to me,” he stated on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday.
Mr. Baffuor Awuah expressed the party’s discontent with the EC’s handling of the matter, describing it as inconsistent and troubling. According to him, the EC had initially indicated that it was poised to declare the parliamentary results in the area, with the only outstanding issue being security protection.
The NPP has maintained that the EC’s latest move lacks transparency and undermines the credibility of the electoral process.
