The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has initiated a process to register additional delegates for its upcoming presidential primary, which is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The move, announced by the Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah, executes a decision made during the National Annual Delegates Conference in Accra on July 19, 2025.

This expansion adds several new categories of eligible voters to the party’s register, known as the “album.” The groups include former regional and constituency executives, members of the Council of Elders and Patrons, past Members of Parliament, former ministers and MMDCEs, TESCON leaders, and current and former external branch executives.

According to the statement, all qualifying individuals are required to register with their respective regional, constituency, or external branch offices.

An online registration option will be provided, particularly for diaspora-based members. The enrollment deadline is set for Friday, September 19, 2025.

The party stated that only individuals who meet the specified criteria will be permitted to register and subsequently vote. The Presidential Elections Committee will conduct a thorough verification and validation of the list to ensure its credibility, underscoring the party’s commitment to a fair, transparent, and inclusive internal democratic exercise.
