Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) has strongly condemned the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) raid on its offices, calling it “unwarranted and unjustified”. The operation, conducted on June 10, saw OSP officials and National Security operatives storm SML’s offices in Osu and Tema without prior notice or a warrant.
According to SML, the raid resulted in the seizure of critical assets, including servers, proprietary documents, gold analyzers, and technical equipment vital to their work with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). Four employees were temporarily detained, and two others were assaulted.
SML expressed concern that the raid jeopardizes the integrity and continuity of a critical national revenue assurance system it operates with the GRA. The company warned that the forceful dismantling of the nation’s only independent, real-time petroleum monitoring system risks eroding years of progress in revenue assurance.
“The unwarranted invasion and coordinated operations conducted on Tuesday, 10th June 2025, by personnel from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), supported by National Security operatives, at our divisional offices in Osu and Tema. The operation led to the removal of critical working equipment, significant damage to properties, the temporary detention of staff members and assaults on staff members,” SML stated.
“The forceful dismantling of the nation’s only independent, real-time petroleum monitoring system risks eroding years of progress in revenue assurance. Without urgent corrective action, the sector is again open to revenue loss,” the statement added.
SML emphasized its commitment to transparency, accountability, and national development, and called on the GRA, Ministry of Finance, and other authorities to intervene and review the OSP’s actions.
