Anas’ Tiger Eye PI Refutes Vitus Azeem’s Allegations Of Shelved Parliament Exposé

Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has pushed back against claims by anti-corruption campaigner Vitus Azeem, insisting that no investigation into Parliament has been concluded or shelved by his team.

In a statement issued on April 5, Tiger Eye PI said comments attributed to Azeem misrepresented discussions held during a past meeting with civil society organisations.

According to the group, the meeting took place around the time of its judiciary exposé and was primarily focused on that investigation.

The organisation explained that during the engagement, Anas was asked why Parliament had not been investigated. In response, he indicated that Tiger Eye PI would look into the matter, a position the group says reflects its general approach to potential corruption cases.

Tiger Eye PI stressed that this response should not be interpreted as evidence that any investigation into Parliament had been completed or previewed to lawmakers, as Azeem is reported to have suggested.

The group maintained that all public institutions, including Parliament, remain under consideration in its anti-corruption work. It added that stating an intention to examine an issue does not mean investigations have been concluded.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Tiger Eye PI has neither concluded nor shelved any investigations into Parliament,” the statement said.

The organisation also challenged Azeem to make public any evidence supporting claims that a completed investigation had been withheld, reiterating that it would release findings once any probe is finalised, in line with its usual practice.
