The Ghana Police Service has arrested four officials of Bills Micro-Credit Limited in connection with an alleged assault incident at Ashongman Estate.
The suspects — Denis Wornyo, 38; Albert Amarh, 40; Ebenezer Amartei, 23; and Atsu Lawson, 27 — were arrested on March 14, 2026, by officers from the Kwabenya District Police Command to assist with investigations.
According to police, the arrest follows a complaint lodged on March 13, 2026, by Hagar Emaser, 42, who alleged that the suspects visited her residence to demand repayment of a loan she had taken from Bills Microfinance.
She reported that the four men allegedly assaulted her during the visit.
Police say investigation caution statements have been obtained from all four suspects, who remain in custody while investigations continue.
The Accra Regional Police Command has urged victims of assault and other criminal acts to promptly report such incidents to the police for investigation.
The command also advised individuals with grievances relating to loan transactions or other civil matters to pursue lawful and peaceful means of resolving disputes.
