The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspected land guard, Saviour Kojo Ekpe, at Abokobi following intelligence linking him to acts of intimidation and the illegal possession of firearms in the area.
The arrest was carried out on March 5, 2026, after police received information that the suspect had been terrorising residents in Abokobi and nearby communities.
He was also alleged to have been renting out weapons to criminals for unlawful activities.
According to police, a search conducted in the suspect’s room led to the retrieval of four pump-action guns, 101 AA and BB live cartridges, a Glock Austria pistol, 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a jack knife.
During interrogation, Ekpe admitted ownership of the weapons but failed to provide any lawful justification for possessing them.

He reportedly told investigators that some of the weapons were used for hunting and personal protection.
However, police believe the firearms may have been rented out to individuals for criminal activities within the area.
Meanwhile, police have also arrested another suspect, Emmanuel Abbey, believed to be an accomplice of Ekpe.
Abbey is alleged to have threatened the life of a complainant connected to the case.
The police say investigations are ongoing.
