The Accra Regional Police Command has declared one Wisdom Tetteh wanted in connection with the disappearance of 27-year-old Theophilus Ashitey Amarh and is appealing to the public for information to aid his arrest.
According to the Police, the suspect is being sought as part of ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the victim’s disappearance, which has raised concerns of possible foul play.
Preliminary investigations indicate that on April 6, 2026, the victim left home after expressing interest in selling his Hyundai Elantra saloon car. He was reportedly introduced to a prospective buyer by the suspect, Wisdom Tetteh, who later invited him to his residence at Saasabi in Accra for the meeting.
The Police say Theophilus was last seen at the suspect’s residence after arriving for the scheduled encounter but failed to return home afterwards. A missing person report was subsequently lodged with the Oyibi District Police Command on April 7, 2026.
Further intelligence-led investigations led officers back to the suspect’s residence on April 10, 2026, where suspected bloodstains were discovered inside a room, heightening suspicions of foul play.
The scene was processed by the National Crime Scene Management Team with support from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit of the CID Headquarters. A search operation involving community members and local authorities has since been conducted within the area, but the victim is yet to be found.
Investigators also say intelligence suggests that the suspect may have fled the country to neighbouring Togo. Steps are therefore underway, including engagement with INTERPOL, to trace and arrest him.
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public that all necessary efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and establish the full circumstances of the disappearance.
Members of the public with any information on the whereabouts of either the suspect or the missing person have been urged to report to the nearest Police Station or contact emergency lines to assist with investigations.
