The Ghana Police Service has launched a large-scale security operation in the Ashanti Region, deploying over 100 officers to boost public safety and maintain law and order.
The mission, led by Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohonu, aims to strengthen security presence in key areas and promote peace and stability in the region.
The operation, which is being carried out in conjunction with the Ghana Armed Forces, will involve a significant police presence across various locations in the Ashanti Region. Director-General of Technical, COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba, emphasized the importance of professionalism, teamwork, and discipline among the officers, stressing that operational integrity and coordination are crucial to the mission’s success.
Dr. Gariba urged the officers to be firm, robust, and vigilant, while also maintaining confidentiality about the operation’s details. “We will be undertaking a special operation in the region, and we will disclose the locations in due course,” he said. “We expect all officers to work together, move in groups, and avoid isolation.”
