President John Dramani Mahama has forwarded a comprehensive report on electoral violence during the 2020 and 2024 general elections to Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine for legal review and advice. The report, compiled by Inspector General of Police Dr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, details violent incidents, including shootings and clashes between party supporters and security forces, resulting in fatalities and injuries.

The report highlights eight deaths in 2020 and three in 2024. President Mahama’s action follows civil society demands for accountability and transparency in addressing politically motivated violence. By involving the Attorney General, the President aims to ensure justice for victims and prevent similar incidents in future elections.

The Presidency reaffirms its commitment to upholding the rule of law and strengthening public trust in Ghana’s democratic institutions.
