The accredited elders of the Tunma Dynasty family, custodians of the Ga Paramount Royal Stool, have condemned the actions of some Ga queenmothers and women warriors for supporting what they describe as “illegalities and criminalities” in the Ga State.
These groups had held a press conference rejecting the Court of Appeal’s judgment affirming Nii Boni Tackie Adama Latse II as the legitimate Ga Mantse.
The elders, led by Nii Ayittey Osu III, Principal Head of the Tunma Dynasty family, warned the queenmothers to respect and accept the court’s decision.
“We would like to warn those self-seeking individuals and groups of queenmothers and women warriors that it is high time for them to completely desist from their continuous habit of supporting the illegalities of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and his installers,” they stated.
The Court of Appeal had ruled in a 3-0 decision, upholding the 2021 ruling of the Kumasi High Court, which recognized King Tackie Adama Latse II as the legitimate Paramount Chief of the Ga State. The court also ordered the National House of Chiefs to re-enter King Tackie Adama Latse II’s name into its register as Ga Mantse within 14 days.
The elders further warned that whoever among the groups of queenmothers and women warriors installed by King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II would also be nullified, stating, “Illegitimacy cannot crown anything to be legitimate.” They accused King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and his followers of deceiving the public and announced that investigations would be conducted into alleged mismanagement of funds, including donations for the late Ga Paramount Queenmother’s funeral and the Ga State Education Endowment Fund.
