At least seven people are feared dead and several others injured following a fatal collision involving an Accra-bound VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienna at Saka, a suburb of Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, causing shock among residents and temporarily disrupting traffic along the busy Bolgatanga–Bawku highway.

According to eyewitness accounts, the collision was severe, leaving both vehicles extensively damaged and trapping some passengers in the wreckage.

Residents, together with other motorists and emergency responders, rushed to the scene to assist in rescue efforts. Victims were subsequently removed from the damaged vehicles and transported to the Zebilla Government Hospital for treatment.

Although authorities have yet to officially confirm the number of casualties, sources at the scene indicated that seven people are feared to have lost their lives in the crash.

Several injured passengers are currently receiving medical care, while efforts are underway to identify all victims and inform their families.

The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, and investigations have been launched to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.

Officials are expected to provide further updates as inquiries continue and the final casualty figures are established.
