Police in Kumasi have recovered a stolen Honda CR-V less than 48 hours after it was taken from its owner’s residence.

According to a police situational report, the unregistered 2019 model vehicle was retrieved along a stretch of road between Bohyen and the Asoufia Highway at Asobonteng, near Kumasi Girls Senior High School.

The recovery followed a complaint lodged on April 3, 2026, by Alfred Gyimah, a legal practitioner with Toto Legal Firm, who reported that the vehicle had been stolen the previous day from his fenced residence, where it had been parked.

Preliminary investigations by the Police Intelligence Directorate revealed that the suspect or suspects gained access to the house through the kitchen door, retrieved the ignition keys left on the dining table, and drove away with the vehicle.

Police said the breakthrough came on April 4 through covert intelligence, leading to the recovery of the car at Asobonteng.

The vehicle has since been impounded, while efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators. Investigations remain ongoing.
