The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) insists its strike will continue despite a High Court injunction declaring the action illegal. GRNMA claims it hasn’t received the injunction notice and won’t act on unserved documents.
The strike began over delays in implementing the 2024 Collective Agreement, including unpaid allowances and delayed postings. Healthcare delivery has been significantly disrupted nationwide.
GRNMA’s Public Relations Officer, Joseph Krampah, explains that while the association respects the law and courts, official documentation is necessary to proceed. “Aluta continua” (the struggle continues), the union asserts, maintaining its stance until served with the injunction notice.
