Sunyani Technical University has dismissed three students for their involvement in examination malpractice during the Second Semester resit examinations for the 2024/2025 academic year.
In a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar, the university stated that the decision followed investigations which confirmed that the students had violated examination regulations.
According to the statement, one of the dismissed students, a male, was found guilty of impersonation after arranging for another individual to sit an examination on his behalf.
The two others—a male and a female—were dismissed for possessing and using unauthorised materials during the examinations.
The university emphasised that the action reflects its zero-tolerance policy on academic misconduct, stressing that “examination malpractice in any form will not be tolerated” and warning that severe sanctions will be imposed on offenders.
Management further reminded students of their responsibility to uphold academic integrity at all times, noting that adherence to academic standards is a core expectation of all students.
The statement added that the dismissals were necessary to safeguard the sanctity, credibility, and integrity of the university’s examination system.
