Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) have announced a change in venue for the 27th edition of the awards, relocating the ceremony from the Palms Convention Centre to the Grand Arena at the Accra International Conference Centre.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 5, Charterhouse Productions confirmed that the event will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The organisers explained that the decision reflects the expanding scale and evolving production requirements of the awards scheme.

According to the statement, the shift to the Grand Arena aligns with the awards’ growing ambition for enhanced staging and broadcast quality. They noted that the venue’s larger capacity, advanced technical facilities, and production flexibility make it suitable for delivering a world-class entertainment experience.

Charterhouse further described the Grand Arena as a familiar and fitting home for the event, citing its role as host venue since 2019 and its suitability for the dynamic performance and audience engagement demands of the TGMA.

The organisers expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their continued support, including headline sponsor Telecel Ghana and the relevant sector ministry. They also acknowledged the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their ongoing collaboration in facilitating the event.

Charterhouse extended an invitation to nominees and the public, expressing anticipation for a high-profile celebration of Ghanaian music and culture.

The statement concluded with a commitment to delivering an elevated and memorable edition of the awards, highlighting the event’s cultural significance and international reach.
