The Editor and journalist of The Herald, Larry Alans Dogbey, has been released on bail following his custodial sentence for contempt of court.

Mr. Dogbey received the jail term on Thursday, June 25, from an Accra High Court led by Justice Isaac Addo, after being convicted of contempt over reports linked to a court case involving businessman Kevin Okyere, founder and CEO of Springfield Exploration and Production Limited (SEP), and Petraco SA.

The contempt case arose from stories published by The Herald about a petition submitted by Petraco SA against Okyere. The court said Dogbey violated an interim injunction that barred him from issuing more comments on the case.
