The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects for possessing 105 bundles of forged US dollar notes concealed in a student’s trunk at Larsi in Odumase-Krobo.
The suspects — Ebenezer Narh-Tsu, 20; George Attor, 48; and Bishop Robert Olertey, 54 — were arrested on March 11, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation by the Odumase-Krobo District Police under the Akosombo Divisional Police Command.
Police said the suspects were apprehended at their hideout at Larsi after officers retrieved the counterfeit currency, which was in $100 denominations, from a trunk.
During the arrest, one of the suspects, Bishop Robert Olertey, allegedly attempted to bribe the officers with GH¢20,000 to secure their release.
However, the officers rejected the offer and proceeded with the arrest before handing the suspects over to the Akosombo Divisional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.

On Friday, March 13, 2026, Ebenezer Narh-Tsu was arraigned before the Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court on a motion for notice of detention.
The court, however, granted him bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, and ordered him to report to the police every Monday for two weeks to assist with investigations.
The other two suspects have also been granted police enquiry bail while investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Police Command has urged the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when dealing with currency transactions to avoid falling victim to counterfeit notes.
