Twellium Wins Beverage Manufacturing Brand Of The Decade Award

Twellium Industrial Company Limited has been named Ultimate Beverage Manufacturing Brand of the Decade at the sixth edition of the National Governance and Business Leadership Awards 2026, recognising the company’s manufacturing growth, product development and expanding regional presence.

The recognition marks a significant milestone for the Ghanaian beverage manufacturer, which has built a diverse portfolio of locally produced drinks and food products since commencing operations in February 2014.

In a related achievement, Verna Mineral Water received the Outstanding Environmental Sustainability Initiative of the Year award for its No Seal, Less Waste programme, which seeks to reduce unnecessary plastic packaging.

The two distinctions at the National Governance and Business Leadership Awards 2026 highlight Twellium’s progress in manufacturing while drawing attention to efforts to incorporate environmental considerations into its business operations.

A Decade of Manufacturing Investment and Growth

Founded in Ghana in 2013 by Hussein Kesserwani and Hassan Kesserwani, Twellium began production on February 4, 2014. The company has since expanded its production capabilities, introducing products across the beverage and food manufacturing sectors.

Its portfolio includes Verna Mineral Water, Rush Energy Drink, Bigoo, Planet, American Cola and Bubble Up, which have contributed to its presence in Ghana’s competitive consumer goods market.

The company subsequently diversified into the baking industry through McBerry biscuits, wafers, cookies and cakes. Rosa Premium Glass Water and the recently introduced Dairy One range further demonstrate its efforts to broaden its product offerings.

These developments have been supported by investment in manufacturing infrastructure and production capacity, positioning Twellium as a notable participant in Ghana’s industrial and consumer goods sectors.

In Ghana, the company operates production facilities in the Accra area and Kumasi. Its regional manufacturing presence also includes Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso and company-reported local production in Sindia, Senegal.

This regional footprint reflects an approach that combines exports from Ghana with production closer to consumers in selected West African markets.

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority lists Burkina Faso, Liberia, Mali and Côte d’Ivoire among Twellium’s export destinations, illustrating the company’s participation in regional trade.

Verna’s No Seal, Less Waste Initiative Earns Sustainability Recognition

While Twellium’s decade award celebrates its manufacturing development, Verna Mineral Water’s environmental sustainability distinction recognises a specific packaging initiative.

Through its *No Seal, Less Waste* programme, Verna removes additional plastic seals from its bottles, reducing unnecessary packaging at source.

The initiative reflects an approach to environmental responsibility that focuses on product design and packaging decisions rather than relying solely on waste management after products have been consumed.

It also aligns with the broader objectives of Sustainable Development Goal 12, which promotes responsible consumption and production.

The recognition places Verna’s packaging initiative within the growing conversation about how manufacturers can reduce material use and address the environmental impact of consumer products.

Twellium’s investment in effluent treatment also forms part of its wider environmental management efforts, complementing the company’s manufacturing activities.

## Social Investment Extends Beyond Manufacturing

Twellium’s corporate activities also include social interventions through the Twellium Foundation and Verna Changing Lives, initiatives associated with support for healthcare, education and livelihoods.

Documented interventions include donations of incubators and phototherapy equipment to health facilities, assistance with medical treatment, community infrastructure support and contributions to Ghana’s national amputee football team.

These programmes extend the company’s engagement beyond its commercial operations, connecting its business presence with selected community and social development needs.

For manufacturers operating at scale, such initiatives also highlight the broader responsibilities associated with industrial expansion, including community engagement and support for essential services.

## Twellium Awards 2026 Add to Manufacturing Recognition

The Ultimate Beverage Manufacturing Brand of the Decade award adds to Twellium’s industry recognition, following its designation as Most Innovative Company of the Decade at the 2026 Ghana Manufacturing Awards.

Together, the honours recognise different aspects of the company’s development, from manufacturing and product innovation to efforts to address environmental sustainability through Verna Mineral Water.

The awards come against the backdrop of Twellium’s expanding product portfolio, investment in production facilities and participation in regional markets.

For Verna, the *No Seal, Less Waste* distinction brings additional attention to packaging reduction as a practical area where consumer brands can pursue environmental improvements.

Twellium’s latest recognition therefore represents an important milestone in its manufacturing journey, while Verna’s sustainability award highlights the role that product and packaging decisions can play in shaping more responsible production practices.
